The Nursing Research Centre, established in 1992, is a resource for nursing clinicians, educators and administrators. The Centre provides consultation and investigative services related to patient care and nursing management. Research conducted by staff of the centre, is collaborative with Mater clinical staff and/or staff from universities. Mentorship is also available to staff in their development of research proposals and the conduct of research. Activities of the centre are directed toward the goal of excellence in nursing practice at the Mater.
The Mater Medical Research Institute takes advantage of direct on-campus clinical integration to link scientific discovery with the practical advancement of medicine and care management practices. Primarily involved in cancer research, MMRI’s world-class research is already contributing to significant advances in patient care. An affiliate of the University of Queensland, the Institute has created an environment which develops and stimulates the interaction between research, teaching and health practice.
