Mater’s perioperative services function as part of Queensland’s only adult, paediatric and maternity combined operating suites. Supported by our perioperative educator and two clinical facilitators, the program offers a five-day theoretical module as part of a five-week introductory component. During the year there are an additional five study days to assist you in your transition to perioperative nursing.
Mater Private Hospital offers graduate nurses the opportunity to specialise in cardiovascular interventional nursing. The Cardiovascular Graduate Program has been designed to assist your development from beginning practitioners to competent clinicians in various cardiac nursing environments.
You will gain valuable experience within three cardiac nursing environments including the Cardiac/Vascular Patient Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, and CardioVascular procedural unit. Whilst gaining valuable cardiovascular knowledge and experience, you will receive support from educators, clinical facilitators, and the graduate support team.
Mater Private Hospital offers a comprehensive program that transitions the novice nurse into a competent and confident neurosurgical nursing clinician by combining hands on experience with theoretical components.
You will gain valuable experience caring for neurosciences and spinal surgery patients in an acute care 30 bed ward. You will receive support from the graduate support team, educator and neurosurgical clinical facilitator.
Mater Mother’s Hospital is offering places in the Women’s Health and Newborn Services Graduate Program for registered nurses wanting to participate in the care of women and their babies. The 12 month program will provide you with six month rotations through the Women’s Health Unit and a postnatal ward.
The ideal candidate will have high level interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional care to women and their babies.
Mater Mothers' Hospitals manage 9 500 births and 2 200 neonatal admissions each year, including at least 120 neonatal retrievals. The hospitals provide antenatal, perinatal and postnatal services and specialise in caring for severe complications in pregnancy, as well as newborn disorders. Additionally, an ambulatory service provides a number of midwifery antenatal outreach clinics and a home care program.
